Activity 2- Electrons

Describe the behavior of electrons.

The behavior of electrons is confusing for most people including most scientists. The video that was presented in class today showed us the different behaviors of electrons. When there were two slits for the electrons to be shot through, the scientists believed it would act like the particles and just be two lines. However, the electrons were creating multiple lines like the waves would. As soon as the scientists put a camera up close so thy could see what was happening, the electrons changed. They went through the slits like the particles did at the beginning. It was like they knew that they were being watched. This is called the Heisenberg Certainty Principle - When you observe you change the system.  No two electrons can occupy the same quantum state. Quantum is the small/unique events that take place. In theory most of the electrons were created during the Big Bang theory but may have been created through other high energy collisions in the atmosphere. As you can see the behavior of the electrons is very strange and there is a lot more to learn on this topic.
